It’s Been A While…

I just wanted to take a moment to apologize for my absence for the past few months.  You may or may not have noticed that I haven’t been updating my blogs or sending out newsletters, or making videos in quite a while.  While I normally like to update at least one of my various mediums at least once per week, I’ve had some recent health challenges that have taken me away from my regular duties

I just wanted to let you know that I have every intention of increasing the regularity at which I provide you with new and important body sculpting secrets and techniques as soon as I am able to resume a more normal daily routine.  I am always thinking about you, and ways I can help improve your life through better health and fitness.

If there is one thing that my recent challenges have taught me – reminded me, rather – is that there is absolutely nothing more important than your health.  There should be nothing higher on your priority list.  Don’t wait until you are sick, in pain, or facing a life changing diagnosis before you decide to take care of yourself.

You don’t have to start with much, but please just begin taking the steps to improve your health now – regardless of how you look or feel.  If this means adding an extra 10 minutes to your morning walk, or eating one less cheeseburger per week, just strive to constantly improve on where you are right now.

I can hear you groaning now, “oh gee, thanks Coach, we had to have this talk right before thanksgiving dinner, didn’t we?”.  I know my timing isn’t the greatest, but maybe after reading this you’ll think twice about taking those second helpings, or about indulging in yet another glass of egg nog (I hate that stuff by the way!).

If you need motivation to get your butt in gear, just look around you at your friends and family this holiday season and realize that it’s not just about you.  Those people need you healthy and happy too, so if not for yourself, then do it for them.

It may seem a little overwhelming at first, but trust me, it only gets easier the longer you stick with it.  Just start something, anything.  Pick up a fitness and nutrition plan from a book or DVD, and just go.  I don’t even care if it’s one of my programs or not, just do something!

As I’m taking my own steps to recover my health, I want to know you are out there doing it with me.  Make it your priority over the next few months to start a program, and see it to the end.  No matter what it is, if you stick to it for 90 days, it will become a part of your new life.  You may hate it at first, but by the time you stick out the first few months, you’ll love it.

Look, your entire world could change before spring arrives, you just need to make a commitment for a very short while, and it will happen for you.   Forget about a New Years Resolution, start now.  There’s no reason you can’t enjoy the holidays and improve your health at the same time.

There is absolutely no reason you can’t drop a dress size by Christmas morning, even while attending staff parties and other get-togethers.

There is no reason you can’t wear a sexy, sleeveless black dress to your New Years Eve party this year, and feel confident doing it.

Why not feel healthy, vital, and energetic, and enjoy the holiday season, rather than feeling the usual bloated, lethargic, stressed, and run-down that is the norm?

Why not put an end to the cycle of yearly holiday weight gain that you never fully manage to get rid of.

Forget about what everyone else is doing; take responsibility for yourself, and take control of your body this holiday season.  Just because everyone else is packing on the pounds, doesn’t mean you have to.

Just keep this thought in your head – finish each week a little healthier, and a little fitter, than the week before.  Make that your mantra, and you will be amazed at the results you will be seeing in the mirror in just a few short weeks.

Beach Body Rescue Plan

How To Get A Beach Body in One Week

I woke up this morning to temperatures about double what they were yesterday, and consequently my first thought was that today is going to have to be a beach day.

With no air conditioning, and temperatures that routinely climb above 100 degrees, I’m lucky to live in an area that is surrounded by cool lakes.  A quick dip in the late afternoon is often the only effective means of keeping my wife’s sanity, as I have been known to get down right grumpy and miserable when it’s this hot outside.

However, the beach can often be the very source of frustration for many.  If you are like the majority of women out there, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you’re probably at least a little uncomfortable in a bathing suit.  Every little bulge and jiggle is out there for the world to see, and lets’ face it, people ARE looking, as much as you’d like to tell yourself that they aren’t.

So what now?  With the hot weather already upon us, it seems like the time for action has already come and gone already.

So you’ve got two options.  A – you can sit this summer out, and start working on your body for next year, while making excuses to avoid the beach or anywhere else you might have to reveal a little skin.  Or B – you can pluck up the courage, stuff down any embarrassment you have about your body, and just try to ignore the fact that you are unhappy with the way you look.

But there’s always a third option – Coach Rylan’s Option.

Option C will allow you to hit the beach in just one week from now, with your body noticeabley slimmer, tighter, and more toned.

I’ve used this technique on many clients and myself with dramatic results in as little as 5 days, and In 10 days, the results are unmistakable.

The first step is to eliminate all starches and sugars from your diet effective immediately.  This means rice, pasta, potatoes etc.  And of course, nothing with added sugar.

The second step is to increase your water intake to about double of what you are currently consuming – up to about 4 liters per day.

The third step is to immediately begin a series of total-body strengthening exercises.

This is how it works…

By cutting out starches and sugars, you are forcing your body to use up stored energy for fuel, but more importantly, you will be flushing out a lot of excess water that makes your fat cells looks swollen, your skin puffy, and your body bloated.  The fact of the matter is, for every one gram of carbohydrate your body stores, it needs an additional 4 grams of water to hold on to.  Eliminate the excess carbs in your diet, and your body will look leaner almost overnight.  You will be eating basically lean protein and lots of fresh fruits and vegitables only, which will provide plenty of nutritional value, and will also increase your metabolism.

Next, by consuming the lots of water – you trick your body into thinking it doesn’t need to hold on to any of it, and you will flush out all the excess.

And finally, by doing full-body exercises, not only do you significantly cut down on the amount of time you need to spend exercising, but you massively boost your metabolism, igniting all of your fat burning hormones.  This also diverts any excess fluid into the muscles rather than under the skin.  This instantly increases the firmness and tone of the muscles, all while visibly decreasing the size of your fat cells.

The overall effect is that your body can undergo an amazing transformation in one week – so much so that the effect often resembles what would normally take a person 6-8 weeks to accomplish.

So mark this day next week as a beach day, and go get started.
